Description: Located in a narrow infill site, a contemporary three–bedroomed dwelling was placed to maximize on light and orientation.
Sustainability:The orientation, although limited was carefully considered to promote solar gain. Apertures on the north facing wall were kept to a minimum. The dwelling is constructed with a solid concrete block inner leaf and an external insulation and render system to achieve a U-value of 0.16. Sedum green roofing absorbs rain water, photovoltaic panels supplement electricity demand, and low e-glass windows, and warm roof system achieve a Building Energy Rating (BER) of A3.
